PSAT Test Preparation

Test Description

The PSAT/NMSQT stands for the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. The exam is designed to help students practice for the SAT and is used to determine the student's eligibility for scholarships awarded by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. The exam is 2 hours and 10 minutes in length and consists mostly of multiple-choice questions that test three subject areas: Critical Reading, Math, and Writing.

Tutoring Services

Fox Chapel Tutoring offers one-on-one tutoring for all subject areas of the PSAT. Most students complete 5-6 hours of tutoring per subject. Tutoring should begin no later than 6-8 weeks prior to the PSAT test date.

Tutoring is provided at an hourly rate of $70. (One hour minimum) Additional time is billed at $35 per half hour for each visit. Payment is due at the time of service. For distances beyond ten miles, an additional charge may apply.
